If you have not bought your ICM yet, don't go to Acura dealer for the part.
you will get raped.
Acura want more than $200 dollars for the part even the online place want more than $165.
Doesn't matter how you look at it, it is too much money for the solid state switch.
I found the same ignitor(NEC, MC-8541) for my 95GSR in a Honda dealership for about $80 dollars.
The dealer said 97 and up integra have a different ignitor than the 95.
The heatsink maybe the only difference, the actual ignitor may be the same.
Take out your ignitor and check whether or not is the same NEC part used.
I called Acura out of curiosity and ask them will the honda part I just bought fit in my car and they said it NO.
I put the NEC MC-8541 I bought from Honda dealer and put it in my car and it worked. the only difference between the $200 dollar part and the $80 honda part is that the honda part is without the heatsink. Since the heatsink does not go bad, simply remove the heatsink from your bad ignitor and mount it to to the new honda part.
You just saved more than a $100 with the same genuine Honda OEM part.
I think Acura just want more money for their parts and sell you the heatsink which you don't need.
I don't have the Honda part # I bought at the moment.
I will look for my receipt and post the part # later.

woops. Yeah I have the 6BTM. I looked at the manual yesterday and cut the 2 wires covered under the black plastic cover with the 1 bolt. This is it right?

Gosh, we found this "problem" yesterday when my car was to be strapped to the dyno.... The 6BTM has been installed for over a year.... Hope nothing else is damaged.... [img]graemlins/cry.gif[/img]

Thanks for the info....I was still debating spending that much for a ICM...please let me know what the part number is.....what problem did you have with your car that made you decide to replace the ICM and did it fix your problem?

OK. The honda part for the 95GSR ignitor is 06302-PT3-000. You will find it anywhere from $90-$120 depending on the marked up of each dealers.
However, you will find it cheaper if you call www.ahmotor.com
A friends of mine work at Honda parts dept which he sold it to me for $71 which is cost. [img]smile.gif[/img]
Anyway, if you need the ICM you will just have to bite the bullet to fix your car. I guess $90 dollar is not bad for the ICM. At least it is not $200.

Thanks for the part number...I bought the ICM, rotor and cap....after installing it I still notice that my idle drops to about 500-600 rpm and then bounces back to about 750rpm and holds like normal....besides that I haven't tested to see if the starting the car issue is resolved because I just finish installing it only about 30 mins ago.
